According to the law firm press release, Katanga Mining Limited ("Katanga" or the Company), through its subsidiary, Kamoto Copper Company SA, engages in the copper and cobalt mining and related activities in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Company is incorporated in Bermuda and its head office is located in Baar, Switzerland.

The Complaint alleges that Defendants throughout the Class Period made false and/or misleading statements and/or failed to disclose that: (1) Katanga engaged in improper accounting practices; (2) there were material weaknesses in Katanga’s internal control over financial reporting; and (3) as a result, Katanga’s public statements were materially false and misleading at all relevant times.

On March 13, 2020, the Court issued an Order appointing Lead Plaintiff and Counsel. Lead Plaintiff filed an amended Complaint on April 11. On July 22, Lead Plaintiff filed a corrected amended Complaint.

The parties entered into a Stipulation and Agreement of Settlement on March 5, 2021. The Court granted preliminary approval of the Settlement on March 16. On June 25, the Court granted final approval of the Settlement and entered Final Judgment.

On August 9, 2022, the Court issued an Order approving the disbursement of the Class Settlement funds.
