Kosmos Energy is a deepwater oil and gas exploration and production company in the United States.

According to the Notice of Removal, on January 10, 2012, Brady filed the state court action, styled Brady v. Kosmos Energy Ltd., et al., No. DC-12-00251, asserting various securities claims against Kosmos, the Individual Defendants, and five other investment firms and banks. This action was removed from the state court of Dallas County to the United States Northern District of Texas on February 06, 2012.

On July 10, 2012, the Court issued an Order denying Plaintiffs' Motions to Remand.

On July 26, 2012, the Court issued an Order consolidating cases: member case(s) 3:12-cv-2383 was consolidated with lead case 3:12-cv-373-B. An additional Order of consolidation was issued on August 17, 2012: member case(s) 3:12-cv-2612-B was consolidated with lead case 3:12-cv-373-B.

On November 1, 2012, an Order Appointing Lead Plaintiff and Approving Lead Plaintiff’s Selection of Counsel was issued by the Court. On December 10, Lead Plaintiff filed a consolidated Complaint.

On June 24, 2013, the Court issued an Order granting in part and denying in part Defendants' motions to dismiss.

On March 19, 2014, the Court found that the Lead Plaintiff failed to meet its burden of showing that common issues of fact and law predominate over the individual issues in this case. The Court also found Lead Plaintiff offered no proof from which to draw an inference that individual inquiries may not be required if the Court were to certify this putative class that is likely to number in the thousands. Thereby, the Court DENIED the Lead Plaintiff’s Motion to Certify Class.

On April 28, 2014, a Stipulation of Settlement was struck between the parties in this case. This Settlement was preliminarily approved by the Court on May 5th. Final Judgment and Order of Dismissal with Prejudice was issued by the Court on September 24.
