Washington Mutual Bank ("WaMu") is a large savings and loan company in the United States.

According to a press release dated January 14, 2009, a lawsuit was filed on behalf of all purchasers of WaMu Mortgage Pass-Through Certificates who purchased said certificates pursuant or traceable to the common Registration Statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on December 30, 2005. The lawsuit asserts claims under Sections 11, 12 and 15 of the Securities Act of 1933. The Complaint alleges that Defendants made material misstatements and omissions in connection with the offerings regarding the collateral underlying the certificates.

On May 9, 2009, an Order Denying Defendants’ Motion to Consolidate was denied by the court.

On August 14, 2009, the Court consolidated all three into a single action under case number C09-0037MJP. The Court further directs parties to file motions for appointment of lead Plaintiff and lead Counsel no later than September 4, 2009.

On October 23, 2009, a Minute Order memorialized oral argument on the Plaintiffs’ pending motions for appointment of lead Plaintiff and lead Counsel.

On November 20, 2009, an Amended Complaint against all Defendants was filed with a jury demand by Policeman's Annuity and Benefit Fund of the City of Chicago.

On December 31, 2009, an amended Complaint against the Defendants was filed with the court.

On December 31, 2009, in accordance with Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 41(a)(1)(A), Plaintiffs dismissed the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation as Receiver in the action. This dismissal was without prejudice. No claims against the other Defendants were dismissed.

On March 24, 2010, the Court consolidated both cases into a single action under one case number. All future filings should be entered under the Boilermakers case number: C09-0037MJP.

On April 01, 2010, a second amended Complaint against all Defendants was filed with a jury demand.

On September 10, 2011, the Court issued an order granting in part and denying in part the Defendant's motion to dismiss.

On October 21, 2011, the Court issued an Order granting Defendant's Motion for Judgment on the Pleadings, thereby dismissing all claims beyond the thirteen tranches in which the named Plaintiffs purchased the subject securities. Subsequently, the Court granted Plaintiffs motion to certify class, appointed the lead Plaintiff, and approved the lead Counsel.

On January 26, 2012, a Stipulation, Agreed Motion and Order Modifying and Correcting Order on Class Certification was issued by the Court.

On July 23, 2012, the Court issued an Order denying the Defendants' motion for summary judgment.

On January 11, 2013, the Court issued an Order awarding attorneys' fees and expenses. On the same day, the Court followed with an Order and Final Judgment, closing this case.
