Case Status:    DISMISSED
On or around 07/28/2004 (Other)

Filing Date: May 13, 2003

According to the court docket, the plaintiff filed for voluntary dismissal of the complaint, and the case was terminated on 07/27/2004.

The original complaint alleges that CSFB violated section 10(b) of the Securities Exchange Act, and Rule 10b-5 promulgated thereunder, by rating Synopsys a "Strong Buy" and issuing favorable research reports that were materially false or misleading because the rating did not reflect the good faith beliefs of the analyst who issued the reports and because they failed to disclose conflicts of interest of Credit Suisse, and in particular the practice of Credit Suisse to gain lucrative investment banking business by providing coverage and issuing favorable research reports on existing or prospective investment banking
customers. The Securities and Exchange Commission filed a complaint against CSFB that charged CSFB with issuing fraudulent research reports on Synopsys.

About the Company & Securities Data

"Company" information provides the industry and sector classification and headquarters state for the primary company-defendant in the litigation. In general, "Securities" information provides the ticker symbol, market, and market status for the underlying securities at issue in the litigation.

In most cases, the primary company-defendant actually issued the securities that are the subject of the litigation, and the securities information and company information relate to the same entity. In a small subset of cases, however, the primary company-defendant is not the issuer (for example, cases against third party brokers/dealers), and the securities information and company information do not relate to the same entity.
