The bill would amend the Securities Act of 1933, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, the Investment Company Act of 1940, and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. H.R. 2873 would allow for subpoenas issued by or on behalf of any United States District to be served in any other Federal district, in any action or proceeding instituted by the SEC, thus granting the SEC nationwide service of process.
