EXCERPT: Zwerling, Schachter & Zwerling, LLP ("ZSZ") is pleased to announce that BP p.L.C., BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc., and the individual defendants in the action In re BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust Sec. Litig., No. C06-1505 (W.D. Wash.), have agreed to pay $43.25 million to settle all claims asserted against it by those that purchased units of the BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust (BPT) during the period from March 31, 2005 through February 5, 2007. The Honorable Marsha J. Pechman, United States District Judge for the Western District of Washington, preliminarily approved the settlement on April 8, 2009. The formal class notice was issued on April 22, 2009. A final settlement hearing will be held on June 30, 2009 before the Court. The class notice and proof of claim form for purchasers of Trust Units during the relevant period can be found at www.zsz.com.
