CORRECTED: Judge Certifies Securities Class Action Against DVI
Brendan Pierson

Portfolio Media, New York. May 1, 2008

_________________________________________________________________________

EXCERPT: A district judge has certified a class action brought against defunct health care finance company DVI Inc. and its auditor Deloitte & Touche LLP that alleges investors were victims of securities fraud at the hands of DVI officers and directors. Judge Legrome Davis Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said Tuesday that a class action was “clearly the preferable means of adjudication to promote the efficient use of limited judicial resources.” The class will include “all persons and entities who purchased or otherwise acquired the securities of DVI Inc. (including its common stock and ... senior notes) between Aug. 10, 1999, and Aug. 13, 2003, both dates inclusive,” excluding the defendants and associated entities, Judge Davis ordered. Correction: An earlier version of this article incorrectly said that the judge certified the class action against Clifford Chance.
