Filing Date: December 04, 2020

According to the Complaint, Northern Dynasty Minerals Ltd. engages in the exploration of mineral properties in the United States. Its principal mineral property is the Pebble copper-gold-molybdenum project comprising 2,402 mineral claims that covers an area of approximately 417 square miles located in southwest Alaska (the “Pebble Project”).

The Complaint alleges that Defendants throughout the Class Period made false and/or misleading statements and/or failed to disclose that: (1) the Company’s Pebble Project was contrary to Clean Water Act guidelines and to the public interest; (2) the Company planned that the Pebble Project would be larger in duration and scope than conveyed to the public; (3) as a result, the Company’s permit applications for the Pebble Project would be denied by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; and (4) as a result, Defendants’ public statements were materially false and/or misleading at all relevant times.

On March 17, 2021, the Court issued an Order consolidating cases and appointing Lead Plaintiff and Counsel. All future docketing was ordered to be done in the lead case 20-CV-05917.

Lead Plaintiff filed a consolidated amended Complaint on June 15, 2021. Defendants filed a Motion to Dismiss the consolidated amended Complaint on December 15. On January 25, 2023, the Court issued an Order denying Defendants' Motion to Dismiss.

On June 7, 2023, the parties entered into a Stipulation and Agreement of Settlement. The Court granted preliminary approval of the Settlement on August 24. On January 26, 2024, the Court granted final approval of the Settlement, including an award of Attorneys’ Fees and Expenses, and entered Final Judgment.
